Experiences
In my journey as a PhD researcher, I had the incredible opportunity to work on two groundbreaking projects which are majorly focused on the “Contribution to the Miniaturization of Continuum Robots by using Glass”. The novel and new generation of robots made of glass are grouped/named as:
- The Caturo: A Sub-millimetre Diameter Glass Concentric Tube Robot with High Curvature
- Miniature Parallel Continuum Robot Made of Glass: Analysis, Design, and Proof-of-Concept
During my PhD, I had the opportunity to teach and mentor engineering students, master students and many interns. It was a rewarding experience that allowed me to share my knowledge and expertise with the next generation of researchers/engineers. Some of the courses I gave and assisted include:
- Methodological Tools (CM and TP for master students)
- Microrobotics (TP for master students)
- Automatic/Control (TP for engineering students)
At ELDI, I had the opportunity to gain practical skills on designing of embedded circuits and microcontroller programming. In ISM, I gained hands-on experience integrating and validating various sensors within the ROS framework, enhancing my skills in sensor validation, data analysis, and robotics. The two projects achievements includes:
After gaining experience as a site engineer for industrial electrical house wiring at VACC, I transitioned to ASCA company as a site supervisor/maintenance officer. At ASCA, I took on the role of overseeing maintenance operations and coordinating with technicians to ensure the efficient functioning of electrical systems and equipment on-site
During my one-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), I served as a mathematics teacher at a secondary school. In addition to my teaching role, I took on the responsibility of actively leading a community development program towards making a positive impact on the local community. In 2015, I was employed as a graduate assistant at Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI). There, I mentored students, assisted the department, invigilated exams. I was also pursuing concurrently MPhil at UNN and all these gave me valuable practical experience in academia.
Publications
I delight joy in publishing my work in an excellent, renowned and high impact factor journal publication body. Presently, I have three outstanding published scientific research papers, which were all achieved during PhD.
